As a part of our Visjon 2030 project, funded by Innovation Norway, we have worked together with Helvetas Ethiopia to help their staff learn how to create their own digital courses.

After conducting online training sessions in the authoring tool H5P, and teaching staff and TVET trainers how to administrate the Helvetas LMS, we traveled to Ethiopia to do an in-person-training.

Andrea from Zabai Norway and Aung from Zabai Myanmar held the training sessions at Helvetas’ regional offices in Bahir Dar. The sessions were attended by both local staff and teachers from TVET centers.

The trainings focused on how to lead a project where you create your own e-learning course based on a TVET curriculum. The attendees worked with their own background material on various TVET topics such as textiles, mobile phone repair and bajaj (a three wheeled Ethiopian taxi).

As part of the project we also set up an offline hub at a local TVET centre. This hub allows students to access the e-learning courses on the Helvetas LMS without an internet connection.

The project will continue until the end of 2023, where Zabai will assist Helvetas in creating their own courses and deliver more offline learning hubs.
